Cookie policy
This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar techniques we use in this shop, what we use them for, how long they are kept and how you can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, tablet or phone as soon as you visit it. A cookie holds, for example, a random identifier that lets the shop find your basket or your language choice again on the next page.
Besides cookies we use similar techniques that place no file on your device but still store or read data — such as localStorage in your browser and tracking pixels in pages and emails. Where we write "cookies" below, we mean those techniques too.
Cookies we place ourselves are called first-party cookies. Cookies placed through our shop by another party, for example Google, are called third-party cookies.
What do we use cookies for?
We use cookies for four reasons:
- to make the shop work technically: keeping your basket, keeping you signed in, protecting forms and remembering your cookie choice;
- to remember your preferences, such as the motorcycle you set in the bike finder;
- to measure how the shop is used, so that we spot faults and can improve pages;
- to measure the results of our advertising and to be able to show you relevant ads outside Motorcorner.
Only the first category is necessary. For the other three we ask your consent before we place or read a cookie. If you refuse, the shop remains fully usable: you can search, order and pay as always.
Which categories do we use?
We divide cookies into four categories. For every category you can see below which cookies we use, who places them, what for and how long they are kept. The retention period is the maximum lifetime of the cookie; it only becomes longer because the cookie is placed again on a later visit.
A cookie name with an asterisk, such as _ga_*, stands for a series of cookies whose name ends differently per measurement ID.
Necessary Always on
Needed to make the shop work: signing in, keeping your basket, protecting forms and remembering your cookie choice. These cookies require no consent and cannot be switched off.

Remember your choices, such as your language, your country and the motorcycle you set in the bike finder, so that you do not have to enter them again on every visit.
Statistics
Measure how visitors use the shop: which pages are viewed, where people drop out and whether searches return results. We use that data in aggregate, to improve the shop.

Marketing

Third-party cookies
We place the statistics and marketing cookies through Google Tag Manager. If you consent, your data is processed by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and, in so far as Google considers it necessary, by Google LLC in the United States.
- Google Analytics 4 measures how visitors use the shop. We have IP truncation and Google's data processing terms enabled; Google processes this data as a processor on our instructions.
- Google Ads measures which ad leads to a visit or an order and makes it possible to show you relevant ads elsewhere (remarketing). Without your consent for marketing this does not happen.
Transfer to the United States is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC has certified, supplemented by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
What Google does with this data is set out in Google's privacy policy and in its explanation of cookies and advertising. You can also turn off personalised Google advertising directly through My Ad Center.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Use the button below; the same button sits at the bottom of every page of the shop. Your new choice takes effect immediately: cookies for which you withdraw consent are no longer read and are not placed again.
For every choice we record evidence: the time, the version of this cookie policy, the categories chosen and an irreversibly encrypted form (hash) of your IP address. We keep that record for 24 months and use it only to be able to demonstrate that we asked for consent.
Your choice is valid for 6 months and you can change or withdraw it at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Managing cookies in your browser
Besides the settings of this shop, you can also manage cookies in your browser: delete existing cookies and block new ones. Where to do that differs per browser — search the settings for "cookies" or consult your browser's help pages.
If you block all cookies, parts of the shop stop working, such as the basket and signing in. If you delete the cookie holding your choice, we will ask for that choice again on your next visit.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a refusal of all non-essential cookies and do not show the cookie notice.
