Explanation of the different Brembo compounds:

CC compound = The organic `road´ compound for normal street motorcycles. CC is Carbon-Ceramic.

Provides good braking performance in all conditions, cold, warm, wet and dry. Suitable for steel and cast iron brake discs and is less aggressive than sintered brake pads and suitable for the normal motorcyclist.

SA and SP compound = The sintered 'road' compound is the most commonly used aftermarket brake pad on motorcycles.

Developed for the latest generation of motorcycles where the SA is used in the front and the SP in the rear. The sintered bronze brake pads have an aggressive 'bite' due to the high friction coefficient of the brake lining. Very suitable for the sporty motorcyclist who wants good braking performance in wet and dry conditions. Ideal as a replacement for the original brake pads (OE brake pads)

SC compound = The race track compound from Brembo especially for racing use and circuit days.

The SC brake pads are for the front brake pads and have high performance braking properties for circuit and street use.

RC compound = The Carbon Ceramic road racing brake pad specially developed for road racing use for extreme braking performance.

Only for use on front brake calipers and not for road use. This brake pad can withstand extremely high temperatures such as those found in road racing.

SD compound = Sintered brake pads specially developed for Supermotard and Off-Road use.

These brake pads have good braking properties in cold, warm, dry, wet conditions and especially in mud, sand and dust. Ideal as a replacement for the original brake pads (OE brake pads).

SX compound = Sintered brake pads for Off-Road and Supermotard racing use.

The emphasis here is on supermotard street use but they are also suitable for mud, sand and dust.
